Plurality Network: Building Confidential Identity Systems on ROFL

Plurality is building privacy-preserving identity systems on ROFL to enable confidential reputation scoring, cross-platform verification, and AI training.

Plurality Network, a project focused on decentralized identity and reputation systems, has been awarded a grant from the Oasis Protocol Foundation to develop and integrate its Smart Profiles solution with the Oasis stack. The collaboration aims to further privacy-preserving identity systems by combining Plurality Network's Smart Profiles technology with Oasis’ confidential compute infrastructure.

Smart Profiles work by generating tradable reputation scores and attestations that can be selectively shared, verified, and used across different platforms. This means users can leverage their onchain identity across multiple apps without submitting data for each service, creating better onboarding experiences while preserving privacy. For developers, Plurality's SDK offers customizable integration options, with 30+ applications already utilizing the technology.

To realize this vision, the grant will support integrating Smart Profiles with Runtime Offchain Logic (ROFL) for confidential off-chain data aggregation and AI training. By deploying on ROFL, Plurality can aggregate personal data from social media via OAuth, ensuring user data remains confidential throughout computation and AI model training processes. The integration will also leverage Sapphire for secure storage and publishing of reputation scores. This approach enables users to link personal data to onchain wallets privately, generate onchain reputation scores, and train personal AI agents with complete control over their data.

Behind this technology, the Plurality Network team brings expertise in blockchain and AI, as well as experience inleadership roles at Fortune 100 companies like Deutsche Telekom. The project already has traction, with an initial batch of applications using their SDK and a functional Smart Profiles platform live at app.plurality.network. With proven experience working with Web3 projects and pre-existing TEE research, including published papers on digital identity, Plurality Network is set to elevate digital identity through its private Smart Profiles system on Oasis.
