We're pleased to announce the winners of the 2025 EthDam Hackathon. EthDam is an annual meeting of some of the best builders in privacy and security, and this year was no exception. The competition included numerous smart and creative submissions showcasing real-world applicability. Below is a quick rundown of the winners.
- ROFL.Dam
- HealthTrust
- MonCraft
- RØPE
- ZK-Pal
- Testament
What is the EthDam Hackathon?
The core of Oasis is confidential smart contracts (Sapphire), but rather than focusing strictly on this, EthDam 2025 challenged builders to go a step further and explore confidential and verifiable offchain computation through runtime offchain logic (ROFL). The range of projects submitted was impressive, underscoring the potential of privacy-first infrastructure in the age of AI. Here are some of the most interesting.
ROFL.Dam
ROFL.Dam is a chat platform running on ROFL that addresses the problems of traditional platforms by giving users full control, privacy, and resilience via a decentralized architecture. Unlike most standard or centralized tools, this platform guarantees that data remains private, making communication truly decentralized and inaccessible to third parties. More here.
HealthTrust
HealthTrust turns health records into sovereign, private data assets that patients can safely monetize using the Sapphire confidential‑EVM and ROFL enclaves to keep the raw files protected. The platform enables researchers to run verifiable computations on encrypted data while patients retain control and privacy of their sensitive information. Check out the demo here.
MonCraft
MonCraft blends retro-inspired RPG gameplay with blockchain technology, allowing players to explore a grid-based world where they encounter and catch wild monsters while enjoying onchain privacy. The game leverages the Oasis stack to implement secure randomness and privacy features and create a fair gaming experience. View demo.
RØPE
RØPE is a trust-minimized on/offramp solution that enables users to convert fiat to crypto without KYC, middlemen, or payment verification risks. It ensures fast, cryptographically verified transactions, protecting sensitive information with trusted execution environments, delivering assets directly to users' wallets. More details here.
ZK-Pal
ZK-Pal enables trustless peer-to-peer crypto trading by allowing users to exchange USDC for PayPal transfers via Sapphire smart contracts, securely storing data and locking funds. A ROFL container verifies PayPal transaction emails in a trusted execution environment, releasing USDC to buyers upon validation. View demo.
Testament
Testament is a decentralized inheritance system that uses a smart contract on Sapphire to securely hide details until the owner's death when an executor unlocks assets from a vault contract for distribution. Testament ensures privacy, immutability, and tamper-proof execution, mirroring a traditional notary model without the risk of external pressure or premature disclosure. More here.
ChainLab Grid
ChainLab Grid is a distributed computing platform that allows users to run computations on remote servers without revealing sensitive data. It does this by leveraging ROFL for secure off-chain processing, enabling secure collaboration where data providers maintain privacy while computation providers earn rewards for their services. Demo here.
Activist Toolkit
Activist Toolkit is a privacy-first protocol built on Oasis that enables activists to verify their actions while protecting their identities with encrypted credentials and secure attestations. It provides censorship-resistant infrastructure for human rights defenders, featuring anonymous proof of protest, emergency alerting systems, and peer verification mechanisms. More here.
P.I.M.P.
Private Insight Market Protocol (PIMP) is a confidential betting ecosystem that encrypts trades to prevent front-running and preserve valuable market signals. Its innovative copy-trading as a service feature allows traders to monetize their prediction strategies through encrypted feeds that novice users can subscribe to without seeing the underlying trades. Demo here.
What's Next For Oasis Hackers?
As the smart privacy layer for Web3 and AI, Oasis is at the forefront of onchain privacy and decentralized AI. This means nurturing ideas and talent from the broader ecosystem, and it includes key hackathons such as EthDam. More information on the winning projects will be provided in the coming weeks. Some of these projects will be profiled on community channels such as Discord and X and through longer articles and the Rose Petal newsletter. Congratulations, and thank you to all who participated.
